  • Representatives from TPS will supervise and administer the exam

Structured Oral Interviews

  • TPS has developed structured oral interview procedures that evaluate the interpersonal and reasoning skills of applicants using standardized methods
  • Structured interview procedures improve the fairness, validity and legal defensibility of a selection process
  • TPS staff will meet with representatives of the department to customize the structured oral interview questions to be used
  • We conduct a training session with the rating board that will implement the interviews
  • TPS staff members can monitor the initial phase of the interview process since monitoring by a consultant assures that a process is carried out in a consistent and defensible manner

Results

  • Results are provided to the department within one week
  • TPS works with the department to set appropriate cut-off levels and to ensure statistical viability of final decisions
